The Tampa guy is Richard Gurndler. He actually filled in for Caterbury guy Paul Allen when Allen would miss time to call Vikings games on the radio. Grundler's "nasally" voice does get annoying, but it could be worse. Do we need to start talking about Battaglia now?

Well we don't have what each horse looks like memorized most of the time, so it makes sense to call them. Only the first 4 horses are usually labeled on the t.v. screen.

But fractions are there on the top right. It's good enough for me.

Grunder should stick to his job as a jockey agent which he is at Canterbury.
By the way, you may want to proofread your posts more carefully.

(Oh I am NOT being sanctimonious..... I just like the guy.)
Well, I work in the operating room, so if I make a mistake, it actually could be the end of the world for someone...

Grunder's calls boggle the mind. He calls the first 3 out of the gate then tells you who is LAST. Nothing about the 6 or 7 in between! Mr Magoo could do better.
Generally I think Trevor is good but he always seems to go to stock phrases. When he misses, he's very bad.

I like Vic Stauffer, Larry Collmus and Dave Rodman.

I think there might be some logic to this. He seems to do it at the beginning of the race only. Instead of wasting time trying to sort through the whole field in the first two furlongs when they are kinda bunched up, he gives you a snapshot of the break which is to say the first three or four that are on the pace, and the horse who is trailing.
After that I believe he works through the whole field but later in the race they are more strung out and have settled into the racing postions more and the position calls are more important. Battaglia goes through the whole field once and they are already on the far turn.

Despite Grunder sounding a lot like the announcer for the Bullwinlkle show, I kinda like his distinctive calls.

I agree with that assessment. I think that this has a lot to do with the large number of 10-12 horse races Tampa has especially sprinting on the dirt. There may only be a length or two of separation from front to back. He does indeed call the entire field after they've gotten well away from the starting point and is often very informative in his calls.

Now, his voice....

Proofread? whtizpruufreed? Yeah you're right though... Beside Derek Bell, who can't seem to ride anywhere but Canterbury now, who else does Grunder represent?

At Canterbury, he was the agent for Martin Escobar as well as apprentices Preto Espindola and Jenna Joubert. Don't know about Tampa.
