"The only thing worse than being blind is having sight but no vision. "
~ Helen Keller Cheers to the connections of I Can See, who was a gallant 2nd today at SA. Storm in May Pollard's Vision Coastal One Eyed King Princelet What other horses are or were blind in one eye? I know Imperialism had eye sight issues..... |

There was a horse over here who lost one eye just after birth when the mare kicked him in the eye.
The eye had to be removed. He was given the name Monacle Also Princelet, who ran today at Ascot only has one eye.

Lexington had to be retired because of impending blindness. I know that's not quite the same though.

I need to add Ace Armada.
One of the more familiar names in Singapore racing, he's a 5 year old gelding trained by Laurie Laxon. On the board in 12 of his 17 starts (winning 7, including the Singapore Guineas) Nice horse, nice record, but sadly he had a bad eye infection and had to have an eyeball removed. Anyway, he just won the Kranji Stakes over the weekend, beating a really nice field home. ![]() |
