Me and a buddy of mine do a handful every year, fully realizing that it's a bad bet. It's just fun to try and pick out a derby horse early. We only take them at big odds.

Here's what we have for this year (some bet in Sept. and some in Nov.)

J Be K 75-1
Ready's Echo 100-1
Sangaree 125-1
Major General 125-1
Wicked Style 125-1
Referee 150-1
Eaton's Gift 150-1
Cave's Valley 150-1
Paint 150-1
Aquarian 200 -1

Does anyone know what the odds are for Dennis of Cork (if he's even listed)?

I've already missed the wedding with Denis of Cork. Loved him first time out and couldn't get to the track that day.

I'd take some of that 150-1 on Referee...!

The fact that Borel took the ride when he had very little history with the trainer and Nafzger had a horse in the race was a big tip-off that he can run. . . He showed a lot of maturity in his debut. . .

Denis of Cork wasn't listed as of 11/20, but after that win, I'm sure he was added. I'm guessing he's around the 75-1 range at Wynn.

Where did you bet these at I would be all over Referee and Aquarian at those odds.

That was the most impressive maiden win I've seen probably this year. Just like you said, for Borel to take him wide and to choose him over a Nafzger colt, and a good looking one at that, says a lot about what Borel thinks of the horse. Throw in the fact that his connections (who don't usally go out and spend 250,000) just bought him as a 2 year old in training says something as well.

By the way, hes currently 125-1 at the Wynn.

played giacomo very early at 50-1 because a good friend of the owner, paul loducca, who was the catcher for the marlins at the time gave him out as a good thing on believe it or not hank goldbergs radio show. thank you paul!

I noticed New Approach on the Hilton list at 61/1.
Is there actually talk that he might come over?

I got Referee and Aquarian last week at Wynn.
My father lives in Nevada, so I have him stop by the Wynn occasionally and check the odds for me.
