What LSU and Oregon have faced are Kentucky and CAL...teams who probably had not faced the speed of light before playing LSU and Oregon.

Default Most intriguing BCS matchup...

Kansas v. LSU -- don't know how LSU would cook Jayhawks

Ducks would become Sauce Picante', or simply Duck Gumbo, for LSU. Plus, I don't really want to look at those horrible Oregon uniforms for 3-plus hours.

heard something interesting yesterday. historically, teams with coaches leaving to take another jobs have have all lost and played poorly in bowl games.
don't look good for lsu after this weekend and les miles will be goin home to michigan and bo pellini back to nebraska.

IMHO, Les Miles is sly fox. Refusing to discuss Michigan is both strategic for his team and for him personally. Also, he has stipulation in his contract that if he wins BCS championship game his pay will be elevated to top three. Currently, Les earn $1.8 million per year -- top 3 is $3 million minimum according to media reports. Is Michigan athletic foundation that well heeled? Plus, $1.5 million to buyout LSU contract. Total, $4.5 million first year!

Bo Pellini is very good defensive coach. However, staff is much easier to replace than head coach. Traditionally, LSU pays its assistants well -- better than many top jobs in BCS tier. Nebraska probably has big enough wallet to get him. Rebuilding program in decline is more difficult than some folks anticipate. Notre Dame had dead cat bounce, winning season, now, they are merely cannon fodder for their opponents.

Silly season for coaches has officially begun and will continue through bowl season...

i think miles has an out clause in his contract for michigan. the best thing for miles would be loyd carr not announce his plans until after or right before the michigan bowl game.

pellini was on the solich staff when they were all let go. nebraska wants to to bring things back in to the family. pellini won't tolerate the quitters that are in that program now.

weis' rope at nd has gotten shorter. apperently he has po'd some of the former players. nd needs linemen among other things and they don't have any bodies waiting to take over. they are using everyone they have and still can't handle navy and af. nd is in big trouble.
