I don't know about that. It seems that alot of people like to see what the horses look like in the paddock and on the track before the race before making thier bets. People also want to see the board. But it is very hard to put bets in that early on a race day that big. For instance, last years Breeders Cup I was at Freehold raceway for most of the day betting the races. I put my bets in for the classic early thinking it would be very chalky and went home to watch it. Now I am mostly a exoctics guy, mainly exactas and triples. I only bet a horse to win if it is about 6-1 / 7-1 or higher. I loved Invasor, and I never imagined that he would go off and pay $15 dollars. But unfortunatley I was at home and did not have a win bet on him. Back to the point, with so many $2 dollar bettors, this dime super is such a value bet especially when the payoff on big days like that a huge that the lines at the tracks and otb's are going to be longer and slower than ever and people who try to wait to the last minute to bet are going to be shut out by a guy boxing 6 horses in his dime super. Then again I could be wrong in thinking that all of America plays the BC like they play the Derby. Now that would be real chaos!

Not at NYRA you can't. Nor the 50 cent P5 at Monmouth ($1 Minimum)

Interesting also that at OTB's in NY you cannot bet the pic 4 at Ellis with the 4% takeout. They offer a pic 3 with the same takeout.
Is that true? F*cking cheap sons of bitches. Hadn't played it yet but intended to this weekend coming up (but thru my NYRA account, most likely). NYOTB is such a fraud!

I don't think the pick three is at 4%, just the pick four

Okay, just to clear things up, again. You CAN NOT bet 10 cent supers at NYRA tracks or NYC OTB's. If you can do it in other OTB's in the state, great. But down here in civilization you CAN NOT.

Just amazes me that these OTB's completely miss the point of lowering the takeout on certain bets. If you do that, then bettors will bet other stuff on those races. I can personally attest to that.

Just amazing that they would cut off their noses to spite their faces like that...
