This is still a few days in advance, but keep in mind that Calder is a very "quirky" track for shippers. A significant % of horses don't take to the deep track and / or the significant humidity in the Florida summer (also need to consider the probability of an off track as it rains just about ever day at 4:00 in So. Fla). Last year's summit stakes were closer to the norm (Local horses winning the big races at huge mutuals) than the year prior (with LITF, Woke Up Dreamin, and Madcap Escapade winning at low priced mutuals).
I would not come to any specific conclusion about the ability (or lack thereof) of Smokey Stover or Fabulous Strike based on one race at CRC. I would upgrade the chances of Mach Ride, Paradise Dancer, and of course Weigilia based on their prior abilities shown on the local dirt (and what figure to be nice mutuals).
