I only saw the race quickly but Pine Island looked like she was still very game in the end. I liked this filly before but I think I like her more now.

I didn't see this thread before the race so couldn't back you up then, but I took Pine Island in the Public Handicapper contest for this race. This filly was bred especially to run at Belmont by the Phipps family. If you saw her, she is one of those tall sorts that stand over a lot of ground and has a big, long stride. And she is out of a full sister to Pleasant Home, et. al. She WILL win the CCA Oaks.

Wow, Teammate is truly a "make the lead with no pressure to win" rat....I really thought she was better than that but evidentally I was wrong....her Bonnie Miss must have been a fluke....maybe two-turns will wake her up...dunno...Bushfire is so game..gotta love her
