of course i really can't say that the barbaro discussion is a side track, it is mentioned in the original post of this thread. but i don't see any connection between the two. nor do i think barbaros injury is an indication of magna being an 'evil empire'. it's a business just like any other--one that hopefully will make money for its owners. if it is a bad business, then like any other it will fail.
I also don't see any connection between Magna and Barbaro's injury (btw, he's doing fine according to the most recent article at TT).
Seems to me, NYRA has big problems. And CHRB has even bigger ones.
Geesh, leave it California to always one-up New York.
All the politics...reminds me of something that comes from just under the tail of a horse.
Stinks too!

I commend the CHRB to take the right step and mandate sythetic surfaces for all Cali tracks.

The excercize in getting the bums rush that Barbaro had to endure I think exemplifies the Magna method. The people are obviously trained to hustle any horse that breaks through the gate back into the gate. Safety for the horse in that case is not a priority.

i think the Barbaro gate incident speaks volumes about the management and priorities at the Magna tracks.

Sumitas,
I'm not debating track surfaces...I agree with you on that.
Time to get rid of the concrete.
Magna taking over NY tracks...big problems...and not because of Barbaro.

I was talking about the politics.....

edgar said he jogged the horse back, and felt nothing. the track vet said he did inspect the horse, and he was fine. the injury wasn't caused by the gate incident. so how is this still 'proof' that magna is evil???? how is something that actually didn't occur 'proof'? makes no sense to me at all.

the people are OBVIOUSLY trained to rush the horse back? how do you come to that conclusion? based on one supposed rush job that actually wasn't?
