From the buzz around him I'd say he should win pretty easily. . . 2-1 seems like a gift, too. . .

Yeah, I've read some hype on this guy, which makes me think 2-1 won't happen. More like 6/5 or less.

I like Abalanche to pull the "upset."

This is a typical Frankel move and he likely wins pretty easy today, but I won't go short in the Graded Race he is in next with real horses. That being said looks like it might be nice double up spot.

I played a back up pick 4 for $2 just in case. I'm expecting a torrid speed duel and Abalanche to pick up the pieces.

Like a seasoned pro at 6-5.. and gives Bobby Frankel a record-tying win.

Great ride by Flores... On to bigger and better...

I know it was his first start back, and I'm sure he will improve, but you can't be bowled over by that performance. He was used pretty hard with an absolute dream trip. The second horse certainly ran no worse.

I may quickly adopt him as the most overhyped horse running.

hard to tell off with that group he faced, but it was a very professional win. Flores urged him to go, and he went. Straight as an arrow down the stretch and won easily. I'm sure the 2nd place horse wins next out, but you can't fault Les Grand Trois at all.

I beg to differ. He had a perfect trip and hardly won anywhere close to " easily ". In fact, it took him a while to collar the dueling leaders.

You're SURE the second place finisher wins next time?

Your decision making won't get any better with me in South Florida all weekend either.

Hope you're ready! I'm pissed for missing out on New Orleans this weekend... I aim to have a few drinks and lose some $$. LOL

I just watched the race again. No doubt the speed dual set it up nice for Flores, but he timed it fine and the horse did exactly what he was supposed to do. The 7 went wide and was going extremely well late, and should improve next time out.
I'm not annointing Les Grand Trois a Derby contender or anything, but what on earth do you want from a horse coming off an 8 month layoff? It was a nice, professional win. Simple as that.

I don't want anything from him. I'm just saying his win today was ordinary and workmanlike. Based on this anybody that is predicting major future success, not saying anyone is, would be seriously jumping the gun.

I agree with you that the second horse had a tougher trip and all things being equal I thought ran a better race.

I don't know wtf Gomez was thinking on the 7. He was much closer to the pace last time out and it was a furlong shorter.

I'm just going to resign myself to the fact that SoCal racing is impossible to figure out. I swear it's like ****** dust is sprinkled on the jockeys and horses on days I gamble there.

You'll see my quote from before the race where I said the same thing. Take my double up today and not like against better at the same low odds based on Frankel and him being undefeated. However, I will say every horse I have owned would be beaten by this one, so good luck to Bobby.
