I'm well aware that there are incompetent people in all fields. There are plenty of licensed trainers out there that don't have a clue. I am well aware of that. However, I was referring to people that truly are experts in their fields, people with proven track records that really know their business. There are such people out there in all fields including horseracing. I could give you a ton of examples. Let's take Nial Brennan for example. He is one of the most successful pinhookers in the country. He and Mike Ryan are incredibly good at picking out yearlings. I don't think there is anyone that would dispute that these guys are experts at picking out yearlings. These guys make millions of dollars pinhooking. It is truly amazing when you go to 2 year old sales how Brennan's horses stand out. I don't even look to see who the consignor is on any of the horses until I have watched all the workouts and made my list. At the Fasig Tipton Calder sale, there were a little over 300 horses in the sale. I had a list of about 20 horses that I really liked. Out of those 20 horses, I believe that 10 were Nial Brennan horses. I can say the same thing at the Keeneland 2 year old sale. Of all the horses on my list, I think that about 45% of them were Brennan horses. He has the best horses at the 2 year old sales because he and Mike Ryan pick the best yearlings. They are experts at it. Practically every yearling they pick can run. When it comes to assessing the ability of yearlings is the opinion of Mike Ryan and Nial Brennan more valuable than the opinion of your average guy? Of course, absolutely. Nothing hurts your reputation or credibility more on this board than your own words, logic and your attitude. It was a thread about opinions and you don't seem to grasp that yours will not be the same as mine or other peoples. You were making claims about horses being doped and that people on here that liked GZ do so just because of his blinkers??!! Is that really the level that you think the people on here are at with respect to rating horses? When you dig yourself in and battle to defend your opinion you've got to be prepared to take some hits, especially since your arguements are not exactly flawless. Just my opinion and I'm one of the people that likes your enthusiasim and contributions. |

![]() OK, so this is the 'private message' I get from the poster who starts the "manners" thread:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- well it seems that we can all do what we want here so let me give some of my thoughts.. why don't you go fu ck yourself you name calling piece od sewer scum.. in case you missed it.. f uc k y ou you piece of ****.. once more go f uck your self you piece of ****. --Let me start by saying I dropped this entire issue YESTERDAY. You say others have "crossed the line," well what do you call this? I certainly never took it this far, and never would. You have some serious issues if you're taking all this THAT personally. If you can't take a few jabs, then don't get into a lively discussion. Most people can just move on after a dispute(especially one about horses on an internet MESSAGE BOARD), I suggest you do the same.

but at what point does absolute disrespect and name calling go over the line. is activly seeking to ruin another reputation still considered correct behavior here. QUOTE] you sir are a hypocrite. you type this sanctimonious crap, and then start tossing doping allegations?? do you read your own posts before completely ignoring your own words, and doing the exact opposite of what you think others should do?

![]() Ya just gotta accept block for what he is a "potstirrer". He likes to get people riled up and be the center of attention. Once ya learn that about him and accept him for what he is, ya can deal with him. Once he learns ya have him figured out, he kinda leaves ya alone. (That and he sees a pic of you and he knows ya aren't fat, he drops that topic. Sarcasim block!
