I just can't stand Boston sports teams. They loaded the deck this year in football and basketball. Should be 2 for 2. Just seeing their fans act like they just witnessed the greatest team ever is sickening.

I don't like catholics either.
Just appreciate that a much better team beat the Lakers to the point of embarrassment with the same salary cap, draft choices and role players that every other team has access to.

The Celtics haven't won in 23 years there is nothing but dues paid for this championship.

Your other comments have been forwarded to the Pope for further review

I didn't see Pippen or Rodman on the court tonight. Stop being utterly ridiculous. A team that was picked by most experts to win it all before the season started won it.

Hooray.

When it's most important, Pierce was the one doing the main ballhandling.
Imo if your PG is your leading scorer thats trouble.
But they have to do the vast majority of ball handling
and adjusting the pace and situations to fit the Man on the team.
I personally like a PG that can play D. Stop the initial penetration
is always first at the crucial junctures in games. Easy layups
by the opposing PG at critical points is worse than having the
star score imo.

Anyways.
Nice talking basketball on a horsey board.

If they can get Odom or Gasol into any kind of foul trouble, it's going to make it hard on the Lakers because they don't have depth on the front-line. I don't think that the Lakers are as invicible as the 4-1 win over SA seems. SA was up by 20 in one loss and 17 in another and another loss came down to a final shot. Add in that the game they won, they won by nearly 20. They were out executed when it mattered but they weren't outplayed the way you would expect a 4-1 margin to indicate. I think Boston is going to show them some real defense here and yes, Kobe's going to get his but we will shut down the rest.

Pierce is going to win the MVP.
Got something right finally.

Yeah, they were such an overwhelming chalk that 14 of 16 ESPN "experts" picked the Lakers to win the series before it started. Whatever you say man, we were the bad guys, sure. I'm loving life.

LOL, you're probably right there. Funny thing is you had the Lakers winning in 4, so unless that was more sarcasm, you didn't think much of the C's either. I'm enjoying this immensely CP, and hope you don't hop on the IrishND petulant bitterness train. Goodnight to all, celebration awaits.

I was being just a little sarcastic.

The Lakers big men were exposed and they put on the skirts the whole series. They definitely need to get some physical players...and Bynum isn't the answer.

I think it would be interesting what happens with Bynum in the mix next year but I'm not so sure he's the answer. I don't think they can play Bynum, Odom, and Gasol all together. I think Bynum is going to need to be the number two option in order to continue his growth. You could see it in his play. He's calling for the ball on the block. He wants to dominate inside. That's going to take the ball out of Gasol's hands and diminish his effectiveness as well as Odom's. I think that sometimes, teams can have too many top individual players that don't know their exact role and it ends up hurting the team.

I don't expect them to lose another one. I wouldn't bet on it though, because an injury to Kobe would give it to Boston. Not exactly a class organization. So, I wouldn't be surprised if that option was taken. This is the same organization that turned their place into a sauna when the Lakers came there in the 80's. There is zero class involved there.
nice call...re re and injury to kobe would have helped the lakers.lil biznitches...freaking quit playing ..no hart l.a teams..how do you get blown out by 30?...priceless

If I had lost that bet Joey, and as a long time Celtic hater, it would pain me most to have to have a Larry Byrd avatar up

That is too easy.

He should rock the Red Auerbach(?) picture, since Phil can't and probably won't beat him....

I hear you, but Irish is too young to really remember Bird (as am I), so it wouldn't be quite the same.
