Quinn has been scheduled 2-3X and had to be postponned each time.. Don't know if this week is best as he's supposed to be on for a full half hour piece about his chapter in "Bet With the Best 2: Longshots".. But yes.. Quinn is a must at some point.

Happy to welcome ideas for what you would like to hear during the lead up to the network TV broadcast..
I would get Richie Dutrow on. He is good for racing as he keeps generating interest with his class-less remarks. Get Kenny Desormaux to expound on his statement that losing the jockey title at Saratoga last summer was more traumatic for him then losing the Triple Crown aboard Real Quiet . Am I alone in thinking that this is one of the more self-centered/narcissistic statements made by a joc in the sport?

I'm guessing that Dutrow and Kent D may be a little busy that day

Kent Desormeaux was on last Monday.. He was terrific and quite frank..

Dutrow for 45 minutes after the Florida Derby.. Dutrow remains annoyed about Dr. Allday's comments about him and has been moody about when he'll do the show. We'll see. He happened to have been a lot of fun after the Florida Derby and very humble about his role with the horse's success.

Both interviews are available on the archives.. I'll get the links.

I would like that Steve thanks. But, as I am sure you are aware, he has continued to arouse alot of contempt from other trainers for his rides. I know the stewards at Belmont have gotten an earful about not suspending him and giving him a pass. And a joc school used to run a tape of one of his rides at Saratoga a couple of years ago (Capote's Crown?) where he gave up on the horse in an important graded stake down the stretch, didn't ride him and the horse pulled himself up to forth missing the photo for 3rd by a neck or nose or something with KD standing up on the horse in the photo. The school focused on the significance of his not placing in the race in terms of the sale of his brood mare later that summer.
If Big Brown is race ridden in the Belmont it won't be due to the horse or trainer. It will be because of the contempt he has inspired in his colleagues. At least that is what I think anyway.

I would put DrugS on the air and finally get him the air time he so richly deserves for the plethora of winners he continues to give us a PID. Also I would like to hear from some past winning jocks to get some perspective on how to ride the race. How about a former race caller from Belmont its one of a kind and requires some unique touches for the race caller. How about Nerud?

All good calls Freddy...

DrugS is on with me every Friday... He will be part of the Belmont Day coverage...

Expect to have Jorge Velasquez certainly... Angel Cordero...

I will talk to Nerud this week. Doubt he comes Saturday with the large crowd but he always loves to visit the show. Being able to interview and casually call John Nerud it's the greatest privledge that I've been afforded since landing in my position at ATR.
