Do the current eligibilty rules for HOF membership rule Chris Antley out of consideration until about 2025 when he could be considered by the Historic Review Committee.

Did you see Flashy Bull in the '06 Derby?

By the way, a debate about what Lukas would think about Antley getting in the Hall of Fame is one of the strangest and most pointless discussions I have seen in quite some time.

Ooops. I just remembered that was Mike Smith and not KD. Sometimes I get my overrated jocks mixed up. I guess I should have said, "did you see Real Quiet in the '98 Belmont?" Although his ride in the '06 derby (on SNS) was less than impressive as well.

Was about to correct Miraja on the Mike Smith Path in the '06 Derby, but he self-corrected. Or, as Steve Haskin put it, Flashy Bull took the "ambulance path."

Yes Antley should be in the HOF. IMO he was one of the best at riding a horse. As for Kent D. being so smart and schooling jocks of today, why is it he seems to forget where the finish line is and stands up too soon? Not the sign of a smart jockey. That said i still like him and bet him.

Yeah, they really stuck it to him......he only won the Kentucky Derby four times, the Preakness five times and the Belmont Stakes four times. Not to mention his 17 BC wins.

Can you imagine what he would have done if the Gods weren't sticking it to him?

Winning the KD has been done by a ton of people, it is a nice thing. But only the triple crown winners are immortals.

Every top trainer in the business has one dream. To win the TC, not the derby.

You obviously don't know Lukas that well. Ask any former assistant and they will tell you the guy was/is obsessed with winning the TC.

I don't know him at all. I do, however, know that he has left an indelible mark of accomplishment in this game. For you to suggest that because he didn't have a TC winner he in some way failed is beyond absurd.

The man's accomplishments are simply incredible. He is certainly closer to being immortal than Billy Turner.

As for Lukas, if you read Three Strides Before the Wire, it makes Lukas look like an insensitive jerk, which in my opinion he is. He is from that Bobby Knight school. Phonies if you ask me.

Lukas is now getting cheap claimers from Whitney and winning at around a 10% clip. Him never winning the triple crown assured me the racing Gods were indeed just.
i heard he used a long whip on azeri in training.

I wouldn't say he appeared insensitive, moreso, disappointed.
