That's not true.

The sport provides plenty of opportunity to witness competitive athletic endeavor at a variety of levels and different conditions, to exercise one's mind (problem solving, detailed analysis, pattern recognition, memory, etc.), to test the success or failure of breeding methods, and to gamble, among other things.

The one thing that probably doesn't fit in with any of the above is using the sport to indulge in fantasy...

No. But I was eagerly looking forward to it. I was hoping Life is Good would have run better though. This one was over five strides into the race though.

Guess it hardly mattered since Rosario didn't seem hell bent on making the front, but should have figured Stilleto Boy would be ridden aggressively from the gate and into the first turn with the jockey switch.

Of course, Desormeaux probably would have done something similar.

The final 3 furlongs was so slow I was able to catch some of it live...
