![]() Al Stall has a good one. Crushed a field at fair grounds today. Bernardini baby is a half to an all time great.

![]() I generally don't trust any Bernardini. How good can they be if Alpha is currently the best Bernardini in training?

![]() Sure he's been a disappointment as a sire, but that's a silly reasson to just dismiss all horses sired by him.

On Wednesday at Aqueduct, in a maiden claimer, there were two different colts sired by Bernardini. One of them was named Snitcher, an 875k purchase according to the PPs. The other was Horsepower, "only" 420k. I threw them both out, partly because I figured the name Bernardini and their purchase prices would cause them to get overbet. On Friday, there is a Bernardini sired $1.2 million dollar half to Havre de Grace, making his fifth attempt to break his maiden. I noticed his best race was on a sloppy track. At least most Bernardinis turn into runners on a wet track, as most A.P. Indy relatives seem to be a fan of. It's been a few years, and no Breeders' Cup wins (I think), and no Triple Crown wins by Bernardini sired horses. Maybe next year will be the breakout year for Bernardini if Monopolize and Unknown Road live up to the hype. We'll see. *I realize he had Stay Thirsty and To Honor and Serve though, so maybe I'm being too harsh. Last edited by letswastemoney : 12-20-2013 at 12:27 AM. |

![]() Bernardini reminds me of Wild Again. Fairly expensive yearlings and 2yos, flashy debuts, then they fall off a cliff.
