![]() i gave up finding a thread after four or five pages, so here's a new one.
read this this morning: http://worldnews.nbcnews.com/_news/2...sea-level?lite which i think brings up an interesting point. not the first time i've read about land rising above the water in an area. for instance, been going to chincoteague/assateague for years. their lighthouse is miles from the tip of the island. who would build a lighthouse so far from the end? they didn't. the island has grown that much over the years. also, years ago, we had been fishing and pulled up on the southern tip of assateague to wander and look for shells, etc. about a mile inshore to the north was the buoy that used to mark the entrance/exit to the ocean. they continuously dredge to keep the channel open, to maintain access to the atlantic for the boats. otherwise the small fishing port would be no more. this planet and the land masses have never been constant. the fossil record shows that. but man, due to his infinite ego, thinks that we can alter this planet to our desires. the parking lots and buildings near the beach on assateague? all gone, again. but they'll probably rebuild, repave again. you know, cause this time the dunes they'll rebuild for the umpteenth time and all that material will stick this time.
