![]() Okay guys, it is time for the last race of our contest. It is not exactly a great race for our contest finale (only a six-horse field) but maybe somebody will go out with a bang! I promise I will calculate the results for last week at some point today and post them in both last week's thread and this one, so that everybody knows where they stand going into Saturday. I was doing so well at posting the results in a timely fashion early in the contest, and have done a real crappy job coming down the stretch. Like everybody else, I guess I'll blame the polytrack for that!
I want to thank everybody for playing this contest. It has been a lot of fun for me, and I hope you guys enjoyed it too. Arlington isn't exactly as big-time as something like Saratoga or Del Mar, so I thought this contest might just be me, ArlJim, brianwspencer (and maybe one or two other Chicagoans) making picks each week. The fact that we had quite a few people do it from all over the country made it a lot more fun. Again, I hope you enjoyed this contest and - more importantly - a great Arlington meet. As always, good luck to all of you on Saturday. Ada L. ![]() Well, I had a lot of fun Mira. Thanks again for the contest. Love Handles came through for me and ArlJm today. Hee Hee I will admit, I picked her on name alone since I have gotten rid of my love handles on my new diet. I thought that name was appropriate which is why she was my WP bet and not my WPS bet. Sometimes I do better by just going on funny things.
![]() I am happy with how I did. I honestly didn't think anyone would catch DC, but CONGRATS to that dude! Awesome Tri dude! Thanks again for all your hard work mira.

![]() The big winner in the final week was ArlJim78 who selected the winner Love Handles for his WPS bet and was rewarded with a $24 score. Buffymommy used her usual WPS/WP strategy with her typical effectiveness and came in a close second with $21.20.
The biggest congratulations go out to 2 Dollar Bill (our winner) and DerbyCat (our runner-up). Both coupled solid weekly selections with one GIANT day to run away from the rest of us. You guys get the "big" prizes, and Arlington bragging rights until next May. Congratulations, and thanks again to everybody for playing. Final Standings 1) 2 Dollar Bill - $637.10 + $2.80 = $639.90 2) DerbyCat - $426.20 + $0.00 = $426.20 3) Buffymommy - $270.90 + $21.20 = $292.10 4) ArlJim78 - $222.60 + $24.00 = $246.60 5) Swedejxn - $200.70 + $0.00 = $200.70 6) brianwspencer - $177.90 + $0.00 = $177.90 6) avance2000 – $177.90 + $0.00 = $177.90 8) dylbert - $155.70 + $2.80 = $158.50 9) miraja2 - $138.40 + $4.80 = $143.20 10) Angelsita - $133.50 + $0.00 = $133.50 11) Gaines2b - $131.10 + $0.00 = $131.10 12) timmgirvan - $102.20 + $2.80 = $105.00 13) Scav - $97.20 + NP = $97.20 14) viscount26 - $67.10 + NP = $67.10 15) Cajungator26 - $63.60 + NP = $63.60 16) trifecta124 - $58.20 + NP = $58.20 17) gamblin4ever – $31.50 + NP = $31.50 18) FGfan – $21.20 + NP = $21.20 19) cowgirlintexas – $8.40 + NP = $8.40 |

![]() I had great fun trying to find winners and value at track I don't often play. Most of my past AP success has been on its turf course.
Good luck to all and I hope this contest returns in 2008! John G. Dooley, AP race caller, is one of best in the country. He does great job each season at Fair Grounds.

![]() Thanks for keeping up with this Miraja -- I calculated just one week's worth of results and finally understood what an undertaking it is, especially on days with multiple races.
It was a lot of fun, I enjoyed my two minutes in the lead, and then still enjoyed watching people hit unthinkable bets on some races. Congrats to the top two! Hawthorne Stakes contest, anyone?! ![]() |
