It really makes me wish I believed in Hell. But I don't and so I don't think there will ever be any kind of reckoning for the men and women who endorsed these policies. They'll die wealthy old men and women in their beds, never having spent a night in jail, let alone five years.

Remember this...conservatives will claim that they are "keepers of Constitutional rights" and that those same rights therein provided do not provide nor apply for "liberals". Of course basic rights as defined should be applied equally and fairly. So what if the Dixie Chicks express free speech, so what? So what if one opposes a "war" (illegal invasion)? We've got cages under the West Side highway where your rights can be heard. Seems to me that those that justify their defense of the very premises on which this once great country was founded are the same ones that are doing their damndest to bring about freedom's demise. Signing statements? Military commissions and not habeus corpus? And so it goes....if allowed and unchallenged. |

![]() Here's my vote for cop of the year! I clipped this from a news story from a couple of weeks ago....
Albany police Sgt. Kinshishi Adams, 34, was lying in bed Sunday when a .40 caliber pistol she kept under her pillow discharged and struck her in her left wrist, Dougherty County Police Chief Don Cheek said. Adams was listed in good condition Tuesday at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital, hospital spokeswoman Valerie Benton said. “She sustained an extremely serious wound to the left wrist and underwent surgery (Sunday) night,” Cheek said. “Everything indicates it was just a freak accident. She apparently sleeps with a weapon under her pillow, and somehow it discharged. Both Cheek and Albany police stressed the importance of gun safety in the wake of the accident. “We train on gun safety and we stress gun safety, but even the people who handle guns for a living, accidents happen,” Cheek said. “We just stress that firearms are not toys, and even people experienced with firearms occasionally have accidents.” |

Finish your "simple" statement- what you said was "I find it hard to believe that you give two sh*ts..." blah blah blah. Classy. Oh so classy. I'll have to start using the same sort of language towards you since it seems to your preferred method of talking to me.

Seeing the value in the traditions and morals that were handed down by our forefathers are typically a conservative value (which is why I think Baba was stating what he stated.) I believe in individual liberty and individual responsibility... I don't want our government taking care of us like we're babies. If we spent more time 'doing' as a society instead of complaining about our current governmental situation, we'd be a lot better off. Most modern day conservatives don't believe that the solution to every problem is bigger government. Most problems can be dealt with one-on-one, each person face to face. Bigger government just gets in the way (most of the time.) The line between the Republican Party and the Democratic Party is getting thinner and thinner... most modern day conservatives probably don't even know what party to attach themselves to. Hell, I know I'm confused... Here are a few things I believe in: 1.) The right to carry arms. 2.) Fiscal conservatism (aka low taxation.) 3.) I don't believe that it's the business of the government to promote particular religions, or to interfere in the private lives of citizens. When you really look at it (call me crazy, I guess), you would think that modern day conservatives would be allies with liberals. Conservatives defend the historical, institutional and moral basis upon which the Liberals might seek to improve conditions today, and aspire to a better tomorrow for the future. In other words, can't we all just work as a team? Heavens...
