I haven't seen it mentioned in this thread anywhere.

Does anyone know if Visionare switched leads in his last race?

wouldn't it make more sense to go over all the various speed figures, all the tools at your disposal, and use that to make a judgement? rather than make a judgement, find there's nothing to back it up, so you throw out all the tools that are normally used (because they don't back up a preconceived notion)and shout 'but i know better'?

horses don't become fast because you want them to be fast. it seems that this crop, to this point, is not showing forward progress. no matter how much anyone may want to have a good crop, it won't always be the case. i'd say the last couple years have spoiled us...

Does anyone think that Pyro wouldn't have gotten an 100 or 100+ Beyer had he been in the Gotham with the better set up (faster early pace) being that Visionaire received a 98?

I certainly think that Pyro would have broken that barrier.

Ok...just looked the Beyers up...

At this point last year...Curlin's highest BSF was a 101. Hard Spun's highest BSF was a 95 and Street Sense's highest BSF was a 108 (Juvy), and he had two triple-digit BSFs (including the Juvy). His other figure was a 102.

There were 6 horses that ran triple digit BSFs that started in the derby at this time last year. 2 of these 6 horses got there triple digit figures in a mile or less. The rest of last year's derby starters either didn't break the triple digit barrier, or didn't get the triple digit figure until their last start before the derby.

2006 was a year where a lot of horses ran triple digit beyers.

2005....5 derby starters had earned triple digit beyers at this time. 3 of those five horses had earned the triple digit beyers in races of a mile or less.

Gayego, War Pass, Big Brown, Georgie Boy, Bob Black Jack, and Pyro have triple digit BSFs, and there might be a few that I am leaving out from last year besides Pyro and War Pass on the TC trail. I would have to look it up. However, based on these numbers, I don't really understand why the number people are calling this group slow in relation to last year's crop and the 2005 crop at this time. I guess last year's crop was slow too based on the data.

2 turn routes:

Alina (f) DED 01 Mar 1M 100
Eight Belles (f) FG 21 Jan 1M 40Y 100
Indian Blessing (f) FG 09 Feb 1 1/16M 99
Proud Spell (f) FG 08 Mar 1 1/16M 99
Another interesting fact -- the four fillies have done their bidding at Louisiana tracks. I watched Alina race online that night from Delta Downs. She won by over 18 (yes, 18) lengths. It was obvious that she was really moving. However, when BSF got posted that week I was amazed. Waiting for her next move...

No way in hell if we had forum Survivor I'd be voting off KYRIM. Where else can you get brilliant insight like this?
