LOL!!
Buffy, listen to Cajun, its not personal, and I defended you when Block went after you personally. Arguing about horses is not personal.

As i said, you just don't have any of the facts straight. The original purchaser of the horse was Mr Sanford Robbins. He is a friend and client who I have bought several for. One is a nice baby working her debut by Freud who is named Freudian Smile. She just had a 3f work in 35 at Belmont and should be really good when she hits the track. What he did with the horse afterwards is none of my business, nor yours. He chose to sell parts of teh horse off to others.Keep trying though!!!
Oh, I get it. It is ok for you to buy unproven horses for someone, but when others like West Point do it they are crazy. What happened to only being involved with proven horses?

Look just because you lost a debate doesnt mean you have to lie. Go ahead and find one post where I said anything negative about West Point, go ahead and look. You won't find any. I assume you are referencing the two year old I spoke of when you say unproven. If you go back and reread my posts you will see that i said EXPENSIVE yearlings. That is specifically what I said. This particular horse was one that Linda Rice(the trainer) liked when she came to see a bunch of another friend's yearlings. The seller didn't want much for her and her sire looked promising, Freud. The particular buying client is looking to build a broodmare band and one of the ways he is going about it is to swing the bat on younger sires whose horses go for modest prices. He also loves and understands the NY bred program, where buying one for 30 grand, you can get most of it back winning just one race. It was what is called a "niche" buy. I simply went out and found what he was looking for using the assistance of someone who knows how to look at yearlings(I do not, and certainly have never claimed to). Any more questions?

You made it personal by calling me names that was not on a horse topic. I swear I don't think you know how to read. We were not arguing horses when I lost respect for you. You attacked me personally. Don't act like you didn't.

raw times have there place in handicapping,
there are websites devoted to just that.
if you feel in your handicapping methods they are worthless, than so be it, for you.
I have to disagree with you. Horseracing in many ways is like other professions. There are experts on the subject and their opinions are more valuable than people who are not experts. Some of us are paid for our knowledge and expertise about horses just like you are paid for your knowledge and expertise on accounting.

I really cant believe this thread is this long.

You know, I don't mind name calling, difference of opinions etc etc--what is great about all this is that it shows just how much passion each of us has for horses and horse racing. To me, the passion that people display on this board is AWESOME. I love it and keep it up.

Best "NICHE" buys are Jersey breds. They have huge purses and a very limited supply of horses to recieve them.

I disagree. Just because someone finds another person to pay them for giving an opinion does not make them an expert on a damn thing. The horse business is rife with old monied people who find their way into the business on the shoestrings of their family wealth. The younger ones show up on message boards and in-house racetrack tv programs and just babble on and on about their "paid expertise" in a manner reflecting their attitude of righteous self-entitilement. Their actual earnings from their sponsored nepotism "employment" pale in comparison to the interest income on their trust funds. If this weren't true, they'd dress a hell of a lot better. The older children of the blue-blood at least have the good sense to blend seemlessly into the background at the clubhouse bar.

If given the choice and need for an "Expert" opinion on most anything, especially related to horse racing, I'd go with the more experience person who earned their stripes and got their scars going through the ranks. The last person I'd listen to is a younger child of privilege who never has and likely never will experience the consequences of being wrong.

I've got more scars than a burn victim. Noone ever handed me a damn thing. I slept in a big closet at some friends house one semester at college because I couldnt afford to rent a place and pay tuition.
