I truly hope they meet on dirt..In the Go for Wand. It would be an assume event. The winner COULD be on the cover of SI or for that what Time. It has the makings of a very special event.

A horse with ability is supposed to win by 20 with a setup like that. Calvin did well... backing-off when he saw they were going to try and steal it themselves. She looked good down the stretch though... but wonder if she can keep this up with hard race after hard race.

She ran a hard race today? If so, can you put up a link to it cause I missed it.

I just checked on YouTube, it's not up yet. How are you doing in the contest?

I never said I didn't, but I get why they haven't and I'm not going to hold my breath waiting for them do so.

In all seriousness, I'm referring to that old saying about horses in that there's only so much juice there to squeeze. Just because she wasn't whipped does not mean the race did not take anything out of her. She's run three really big races now in less than two months and we're only in June.

Moss

"we will find a way to make this happen"

I for one want it to be at CD, give RA 10 pounds, match race to boot.....so when Zenyatta beats her there is no excuse ( :

If I were the Moss' I'd make it happen in the Beldame. Zenyatta doesn't seem to find her stride on the tighter turns but kicks-in nicely once she finds her stride down the stretch... she would do far better on the sweeping turns at Belmont Park in my opinion and be very tough to beat.

it's a shame oaklawn is closed-they both won there, it's centrally located...and only two hours away!

Travis stop it...really. You're taking a blanket remark about normal horses and throwing it over a horse that may not be an all-time great but is clearly not normal. We're treating horses like such pansies right now and it's ideas like thinking that huge performances where they win on cruise control leave them zapped that have led us to crowning "champions" every year.

Stop what?

I'm not taking anything away from her, I'm just saying it'll be hard to continue to duplicate these performances throughout the rest of the year, especially in races like the Travers where there will be more quality to test her at certain parts of the race, after continual big effort after big effort. I don't think there's anything wrong with saying this.

She won two of her last three by 20 lengths! The above quotes make it seem like she's been in a complete drive to do it over and over when it's been the opposite.

Her connections did the right thing in skipping the Belmont and they've obviously been rewarded with a filly who's still just as good as she was earlier in the spring. I just don't understand how you or anyone could watch that effort and wonder if she can continue to run at a high level when it's exactly what she's done now for the better part of five months.

Flashing must have really hit a wall in deep stretch.

The chart has her in front by 8 lengths at the 1/8th pole .. and finishing last by more than 30. I guess she needs a cut-back to a mile.

The funny thing is that in a sale catalog in a few years a foal is going to be by Grade I placed mare Flashing.
