To my understanding just a bruise. Here is an excerpt from a DRF article:

But Sadler expressed concern that the quick times could be leading to foot problems. He said he scratched Zanzibar from the Underwood and the well-regarded Exhale from a maiden race on Sunday because of foot issues. He said he has been surprised by a few instances of bruised feet.

"I'm seeing feet, and I'm seeing little things," Sadler said. "I still think the track is good, but they've had some issues with maintenance

Thanks. I typically wave off horses with foot problems. But if it was just a bruise then that is no biggie.

He's made 85,545 as of 11/05/06 according to pedquery. Not sure which is right. Sharp looking Fuschi Peg from a Meadowlake mare. Looked sharp in the Champagne, then got his bell rung in the BC Juvenile.

EDIT - graded money...my bad

EXHALE has been touted as a potential Santa Anita Derby colt, and his debut shows why. He broke slow from the rail, quickly worked into contention, dueled through a fast pace, and only weakened late to finish second behind Notional, the 8-5 favorite Saturday in the San Rafael Stakes. EXHALE missed a start at Hollywood Park because of a minor foot problem, but he worked well recently and would crush these if he reproduced his Oct. 21 debut. This is only his second start.
YAH, he runs today! He should blow that field away. I think Sadler put him in a very good spot at 6 1/2. I don't think that the colt would have been ready to try stretching out just yet.

this horse could beat this field in a gallop. his price will be microscopic.

Anyone see Came to Pass debut at Gulfstream on Saturday?
Looked to be a pretty good field of 3-yos, and he made it look easy.
I don't think Prado ever had to touch him until very late, just to keep him on task.

That dude is nice. I really like him. He made it look extremely easy and ran pretty green. Beautiful bay horse and has a lovely way of going on him.

No doubt he'll be 2 or 3/5. I'm just hoping everything goes well from here on out for him.

I'm not sure how much the track changed through the day (and if it did) but he went a second faster than Darley's other Maiden winner of the day, Mandurah, who broke his maiden in his first start.

wow, I didn't notice that. And I believe Darley still has Mercantile, who hasn't broken his maiden yet but could in his next start.
And speaking of performances on Saturday at Gulfstream, Cowtown Cat looked nice winning an allowance race for Pletcher, too.
I'm not sure if any of these are bred to stretch out (one of the pedigree experts on here can chime in), but there looks to be a lot of nice 3-yo's down in Florida this year. Cant wait for Feb. 3rd.

Bold Start looked pretty nice, too - he was boxed in for much of the race and responded well when asked. His race was much faster than the other division and he earned a 92 Beyer; I'm not sure how he classes up, but he seems to have made the leap nicely from two to three. I'll be interested to see where he goes next.

let's see...mandurah. ap indy out of a machiavelli mare. nice pedigree and has a good dosage. only one start, a feb colt...very nice top and bottom. who's who of the horse world in there.

mercantile--by golden missile, who of course is by ap indy. nice, but not nearly as blue blooded as mandurah. dosage low.

boy darley likes those ap's...

cowtown cat by red hot sire distorted humor out of a storm cat mare. nice, but again not as nice as mandurah.

I started this thread a while back, which gives you a good idea of what should be popping up on the Florida scene:

Speaking of Darley & their ap's....Barbican, who looked good last year at this time should be starting again soon.
