I did not intend to offend any southerners or the way they talk. That said, the current president that pretends to speak like one is not. Here's his biography. Pay attention to where he was born and where he was educated. Proof: http://www.dkosopedia.com/wiki/George_W._Bush My view is that his "affected accent" is as phony as his "leadership". btw..."Real" Southern accents, though tough for me to comprehend at times, sound smooth as "gravy on grits". |

Who gave Dubbya the blumpkin? I thought Laura was out of town and Monica was at the orthodontists. Was it Condi or Carl? Can't wait til it hits you tube. |

W has definitely not been the best of Presidents, but he deserves more respect than that.

I didn't say he got one..heck, I really didn't even know what it meant. Baba was saying that word. And I personally don't think Balleto would know anything about it either. She is a very sweet and knowledgeable young lady. She deserves much more respect than having someone start rumors about her. I would never! If Dubbya does those kinds of things, that's really none of my business. I never claimed that he did. again, I would never! ps...thanks for the translations. What's a "ewe-night-her"? |

I guess you know what I said, and didn't say. I didn't bring a word into this that I later found to be quite disgusting, nor did I claim that someone that didn't respond to this thread would provide an explanation. If slandering people is "fun and games"..leave me out. I started this thread because I wondered what President George W Bush meant when he said on Wednesday in his press conference, "We got a thumpin'". You can spin my words anyway you want, but the question remains unanswered, despite the vulgarity. And, yes, I really DO have difficulty understanding a "southern" accent, especially an affected on from a President that was born in Connecticut, and attended college in Mass. There seems to be a bit of a problem when some people try to "put me on". Carry on. But not "on" me. |

If you're implying that I'm gloatin' about the thumpin' (whatever that is), you might just be believin' that the cluckers are a roostin'. Check out that thread too. |

DTS: I was aware that you would be crowin' after election day,but some of this stuff is beneath you! You can't figure out what a thumpin is? How about the term 'getting clocked'? Getting our butts kicked? Of course,Gentlemen Presidents dont say words like that in the press....so He said we got thumped! Hope that clears it up for you. Please be forthwith in getting your ideas for Change to the New Congress...I'm sure they'll have to come up with something for the next 2yrs!

You took this thread in that direction cause you said "he". I just was asking for clarification as to the identity of the "he" you were referencing. Thanks for the "almost" answer, y'all. DTS |
