![]() 2ND IN (G1)HWD FUTURITY 23'2 46.0 1:10
1ST (G1)KENTUCKY DERBY 45'1 109'2 1ST IN (G2)SAN DIEGO HANDICAP 22'4 46.0 109'4 Yesterday was 46'3 1:11'1 Giacomo has won his share of nice races.Obviously he likes a 46 or quicker pace to chase. If you like to rag on horses, then you can rag on his one dimensional style. It is often said that he is slow.He is slow if they run a 46'3,or a 47.He can beat fast horses if they run a 46'0 or quicker. He can look very bad( until he gets his pitch.)You give him his pitch, and he won't leave it short. If he were to get the pace in the 2003 classic (22.79, 46.35, 1:10.32, 1:34.32,)then I think he would have a shot.Same for the 2002 classic.2004,and 2005...No...All about getting his pitch. |

... what it boils down to is this ... ... if all the other horses collapse from exhaustion ... Giacomo is capable of staying on his feet and passing them. Yeah ... that's a really ringing endorsement. |

![]() The ridiculous thing is we have an intact Kentucky Derby still running late into his 4yo year and people still want to complain about it.

No one is bashing Giacomo ... we're just commenting on the goo-goos who were trying to convince us ... despite all evidence to the contrary ... that Giacomo is still a G1 race horse. If you read my earlier posts on this thread ... and comprehended them ... which I know is asking a lot ... you'd realize that I'm a fervent supporter of Giacomo ... and dearly hope that he's given a decent opportunity as a stallion. Hey, Steve ... is it possible to add a Remedial Reading Comprehension section to this site? Sheeeeeesh !!! |
