Default 6/19: CD (1st-11th); HOL ($552k C/O)

Came away empty-handed and $250 lighter in the bankroll Thursday after noble try at the Hollywood carryover. Good news is we all get another shot late tonight with a pool at $550k+ and likely to approach $3,000,000.

Although the late P4 recouped a tiny sum, losing the photo between Senor Afortunado (P4 paid $100+) and Magna Cum Laude (P4 would pay $500+) in that nightcap was the difference in breaking even on the day after the $288 and $72 P6 and P4 investments.

It was a super tough sequence in which having the right single (Delta Storm in the Kerlan) and one of the $30+ horses (Tidal Dance in the 4th) felt really good but delivered nothing to the bottom line. Hope you fared OK...

Fabulous racing night ahead though with Churchill running from 6pm to 11:15pm (EST) and Hollywood commencing at 10;05pm EST and wrapping at 1:20pm (EST). Should be a special evening for racing fans and horseplayers...

Churchill has certainly accomplished their goal of creating buzz surrounding the night racing. Would expect it to be their 3rd largest crowd of the year.

Really curious to see Schramsburg in the 6th. Serenas Song has already foaled some good ones. Doesn't look to be a lot in here to beat. Very curious to see how far down his odds come from the 8-1 ML.

Steve, both you and Gus have My Boy Jo as your top choice in the 7th. What do you like about him? Thanks.

Actually, the more I look, the more I like Chapel By the Sea, but 8-1 is a square price on My Boy Jo considering the ordinary nature of the group. He appears to be an in-out type that alternates efforts, with a good one in the offing here. Johars are OK on the main track, and while J-T stuff doesn't move me typically, it is noteable that Nicks reaches for Albarado here (5 of 12-42% together last 18 months, and 20.7% over last 140 starts together.)

It's an ugly race.
