Come on Freddy, vanned off. That's a little harsh!
I meant Iavarone getting vanned off not the horse sorry... I live in Colts Neck pretty close the Monmouth as well

Speaking of Monmouth -- that can be one tricky track.

It is like Michael Dickinson telling us every time a horse breaks down it is because the track was Tapeta. Give me a break.

What is really annoying is the media gives these snake oil salesman repeated free media to hype what they are selling.

I hear ya but it is the way the "media" operates. We are just noticing it more because we understand the issues and can see the holes in the stories and the occasional complete untruth. I'm sure that other industries and business deal with the same crap.

I think this was a smart move by IEAH simply because it buys them some free, good press. Considering that they run in NY where Lasix is the only race day med used it sure is generous of them to give up all those other meds that they cant use anyway. Until they specifically name what drugs that they will be giving up and tsting for the whole thing is a joke yet the media will portray it as a positive and unknowing (or stupid) people will commend them and say that "you have to start somewhere" or " it is a first step" when it actually is simply lipservice.

Default Mr. Cannon would this

not hurt a bit if it got punched back in during the race?
ANd is this a common place for a loose shoe?
I thought Brown had a problems with clipping his backs
with the front. I realize there are a lot of other ways this
could have happened... but it this a common place?
Attachment 846

Never mind. Just read about it.

It's somewhat interesting that Iavarone was "looking" for reasons the horse didn't do what everyone expected -- now the shoe -- and Dutrow keeps saying "no" or "nothing wrong".

I like the last one where Dutrow said they (owner) can keep saying whatever they want, but I am going to keep saying there was nothing wrong with this horse -- or something along those lines.

that picture says to me that it probably did have a negative effect on his race that day. it could have been 100% responsible since none of us knows what running with a loose horse shoe feels like....but it sure doesn't look comfortable.

i'll say the loose shoe was 35% responsible for his loss that day.

i would say it was 45 % jockey error for restraining him the first 1/4 mile.

and i think it was 20% "bounce"

how do you come up with those figures? based on what? other horses have thrown shoes, had loose shoes, and won or hit the board. i think it was devils bag who pulled two loose in one race and still won.

well, that's true... i was just wondering what your %'s were based on-i'd say it was 100% not his day, rather than trying to break down what % was possibly based on what.
