Default Belmont today? Carryover leftover?

Having been prepared to play today had the BEL carry gone unhit, probably worthwhile to look at a few of today's tough events. 4 maiden affairs and 2 ALW's... Casual glance..

4th: #2 DIRTY WATER DOG WON (8-5) appears to have this bunch over a barrel. No super available but a key of Tagg's gelding with #1 I'll Make it Up (5-1), #7 Mail Heroics (20-1) and #9 Sir Cryptonite (9-2) is my thought...

5th: Dreadful bunch.. 1-5-6-8 I suppose if forced to play.. 6-1-8-5

6th: #3 DIXIELAND STAR (7-2) and #5 BLAZING BUDDHA (3-1) look better than the rest here. #9 New York Style (10-1) and #6 Bad Decision (8-1) are the right prices to use under/with, etc..

7th: Angel Penna's #5 DIAMONDRELLA (3-1) is strictly the one to beat. #3 Psycho D J (6-1), who has kept my interest since spring, #1e Frankel entry, #2 That Girl is Mine (8-1) and #4 Shopit (6-1) are all worth employing in triple keys.

8th: Not that interested in this feature, but #4 Iron Curtain, #6 Raynicks Cat, #9 A Zero Trap and #11 Halation are the ones I'd want to use to varying degrees.

9th: #2 More Than Thunder (5-1) from Tom A. and #9 Manitoba Miss (10-1) seem the major players to me. #8 Goo Goo Eyes (6-1) is OK and #6 Tessitura (6-1) would be a good super add.

P4 Play?

6: 3-5
7: 5
8: 4-6-9-11
9: 2-8-9

2x1x4x3 = 24 x $2 = $48

Backup:

6: 3-5
7: 1-2-3-4
8: 4-11
9: 2-9

2x4x2x2 = $32

Good luck!
Steve

It is amazing how much a card can deteriorate in a single day.

Racing offices are at the mercy of the horses on the grounds. They can only write races for what they know will fill. It's not as good as Wednesday's fun series, but it's not unplayable today either...

Excellent point. Not only that Steve, but also when you front end load a day, or a weekend, you tend to fall victim to getting light on the back end. Common problem. At the same time, we are deep in the meet. That too can have an effect, as well as other, nearby tracks. Monmouth has apparently seen a spike in stall requests since going full time, but I don't think the field size has seen it yet.

Pletcher/Velazquez have Lacadena in the 7th. Fast work coming in, last may just have been a warmup for this horse's real calling, on grass

Iron Curtain, in the 8th, lost to Cannonball in the fall, otherwise trounced competition in other grass race Hope for the 3-1 to stay intact

Int he 9th, one of my favorite angles turns up with Elusive Moment. Horse gets a positive trainer switch who immediately tries the horse on grass, attracts Gomez as jockey

Default R2

If I were playing this race I'd probably use the 7.
