I agree that America is the greatest country on earth, I also agree that other societies have the right to their own societal laws. Islam does not preach what some have perverted it to say...that is a failure of mankind not the religion. We can point out sad events in the histories of ALL religions...Christianity is not immune to the cynical glare of history. All that said, there is no justification for the treatment of women in many so-called Islamic states just as there is no justification for slavery, religious persecution and hatred overall. I think it IS important that news of this sort be greated with universal condemnation....maybe someday we'll find what Diogenes never did!
