Also doesn't help when you get some bad base running, like
trying to score Howard from first on a 2 base hit. I wish you
could listen to the fans calling in the local sports radio in Philly
priceless. Chuck in your espn fantasy league I have both
Madsen and Gordon and their going to be dropped on Thursday
night if they don't pitch well in the afternoon

I'm guessing Madsen does not get in unless they run out of pitchers

Next year, they have one of the most hyped high schoolers in recent yeard in OJ Mayo coming in. If he's as good as advertised, and if their two juniors come back next year, they could be a really good team. They would be my choice to win the Pac 10 and be a serious threat for the national title. Think about it. If u are a good high school player, could there be many better situations than USC? They are an up and coming team, play in a major conference, are located in the nations number two media market, have a new arena, and have a coach with NBA experience that could help u get there.
The two juniors didn't come back so that hurts this team a bit but they are still a very interesting team. I don't know if they are a serious threat to win the title but they can make life very tough on some teams. Ask Kansas, Memphis, and UCLA. Against Kansas, they held the Jayhawks to 38% shooting and 22 turnovers in a game that came down to the final minute before USC lost 59-55. Against Memphis two days later, they held the Tigers to 37% and 21 turnovers in a 62-58 overtime loss in NY. Yesterday, they held UCLA to 33% shooting and beat the Bruins at UCLA 72-63. It makes you wonder how this team lost it's season opener at home to Mercer. The other losses aren't so bad, considering the circumstances. They lost their conference opener at California and then lost at Stanford and at home against Washington St. When you consider that of the seven guys that play the most minutes on this team, four are freshmen and the other three are sophomores, this team has a chance to really be a tough out come tournament time. The potential is there.
