As someone that until the end of last year was exclusively a day to day player, I have found the contest scene to be wildly fun. I have found that my day to day playing has become more positive because I now feel as though I better recognize a true overlay and will change my wager accordingly. Whereas in the past I have loved many a horse at 10-1 ML only to see 7-2 near PT, I was married to that play, even at less than fair odds. More often than not, a losing bet would be in the cards. In the tournaments, your entry fee is in and all the races are played as a unit, so accepting underlays isn't ......acceptable.

It was a real weakness of my handicapping-wagering and because of playing tournaments on a more regular basis I am slowly breaking myself of a bad habit that took 25 years to solidify itself.

And did I mention that they ARE tons of fun!

Just thought I'd share.
