LOL. yeah.

I can't wait to see how PG1985 spins Shared Belief kicking Game on Dude's butt.

Probably gonna go with the "perfect trip" angle for SB while GoD had to do all the early running.

That is the best horse in the country. I don't think he beat much but the way he did it was freakish.

If I wasn't a beliefer before, I'm definitely a beliefer now. That horse is a serious athlete.

Which is a valid explanation. Shared Belief is very good, but let's not pretend that race wasn't served up to him on a silver platter.

I don't disagree with it being gift wrapped but he won the way he should have...or maybe even better in that it was a virtual hand ride. No?

It was his freaking sixth lifetime start, going up against much more seasoned horses. Gift wrapped???

His first two starts this year were freaking exhibition races no less.

Game on dude had zero excuses. He opened up a big lead having it his own way, and the winner blew by him like it was nothing.

His own way?? Pace was very fast. Only 1 horse ran on and it was the winner who tripped out.

Saying that a horse who dueled through :22 and :45 splits going 1 1/4 miles "had zero excuses" for losing and "had it his own way" shows a pretty staggering misunderstanding of race dynamics. I'm just gonna assume it's the noise of the Shared Belief pom-poms blocking all rational thought in this case.

It was a slight overstatement. The reality is though that God is a horse that is much better running loose and he was able to do just that. Would you have preferred that he had gone 48.4 fighting his jock?

All in all, he ended up running a pretty good race. God that is.

I doubt had the race been run any differently, that he'd have finished any closer than he did

Stop bro, just stop. So if GOD went 47.3 w/out that long shot pressing him, he doesn't draw away turning for home??
I don’t buy it.

If they went slower do you think he would have been closer?

The horse got a lot scarier in terms of talent by being mid pack between horses off a fast than he did in all his cake trips previously near or on the front end.

Dude's had a great run. 6.5M Gave the owners lots of thrills. BC Classic was the blemish.

I actually thought GoD ran a huge race. I don't think he's done at all.

Shared Belief is just better.

Obviously. But in that scenario, Game on Dude wouldn't have been reduced to a traffic cone by the time they hit the far turn.

Both things can be true: (a.) Shared Belief is awesome and was an impressive winner of the Pacific Classic AND (b.) the race couldn't have unfolded more perfectly for him with his chief rival essentially eliminated as a win contender 1/4 mile into the race.

I still think SB runs by him, GOD does not have the turn of foot to jump away from a horse who is all over him, he has done it on few occasions, he usually increases his lead by just running them off their feet and he tried that in this race but could not sustain.

Horses like Game on Dude run better when running fast. If he'd been 'allowed' to set a slower pace, he likely would have lost by even more.

I agree. It's a shame that GoD's effort is being diminished as he ran a HUGE race. I truly don't understand Baffert's remarks - he has been pressed by horses (long and short priced) in the past and lost too. Sunday wasn't anything new.

Shared Belief wasn't being beaten regardless that day. GoD's figure is going to be more than respectable. He is still one of the most imposing horses on the West Coast.
