It takes the fun out of having the winner. Very unfortunate.

I want to see the replay - not for the injury (likely fatal) on Ludicrous, but rather to see why Castellano decided to go inside and split horses aboard Today's Agenda, fighting for the same spot as Ludicrous. Hopefully, their legs did not get tangled as that would make a terrible decision even worse. The head-on will tell the story.

And when you have a bad day at the track, remember that Ludicrous was a $770,000 purchase in the April 2014 Keeneland sale.

Unfortunately I think that is exactly what caused the injury. Grening already saying it is fatal.

Thanks, and nice job yourself, knicks! Get that double home.

I feel like I should just quit here and go home a while I am up.

I just watched the replay panshot (head-on not available).

Castellano was clearly tipping outside of Bayerd with Today's Agenda and then pulled the left rein to come back inside and try to pin Irad Ortiz and Ludicrous down to the rail behind the front speed.

It appears to me that Castellano was trying to either beat Ludicrous or specifically get the nod over rival Ortiz - but he clearly did not ride the race in order to defeat the front runner or he would have come wide.

It also appears that there was bumping in the stretch and the breakdown occurred after some contact - and given the right front injury, this could have been a fatal blow delivered by Castellano's mount.

Now, I am not a steward clearly. I know that Castellano gets away with many dangerous actions on the track in the name of being competitive.

This deserves days in my view. The rider's actions put several in danger on the track and that must be handled by the stewards.

These are 2 yo horses, why try to split them instead of around ?

He deserves days and should kiss the stars that the owner of that horse can't sue him for the value of the horse.
