Re RHT... I know some have had problems with him but the guy has never been anything but polite to me (and I don't recall him ever saying anything so negative directed at any horse so I am hopeful he didn't mean it and was having a bad moment or something).
Yeah I like the horse but Coburn had one of the biggest meltdowns in sports on Belmont weekend.

Coming off a performance like that it's best to not whine about the cost of prancing your golden goose around the beach...especially after you've banked a couple million.

People getting upset over typical redneck behavior is pretty funny.

Precisely.

People maybe are forgetting they are rednecks because they are wealthy.

they are not, nor will ever be wealthy. they might have a little money now, but wealthy is what the Vanderbilts, Whitneys, Phipps" are. do not confuse money with wealth.

I have the ability to separate the horse from the owners............hard not to admire the horse AND the trainer. It's just a shame (and a lesson) that the owners don't seem to get it. Fine, you want a couple of bucks to drive the horse down, I'm sure something could have been discussed behind closed doors to settle things (Flay had it right). No, I can't imagine what it would be like to have had the highs and lows associated with Chrome. But I have to believe I would have been much more thankful and appreciative of the ride. I shudder to think what we would have been subjected to if Chrome had pulled it off. Adversity reveals character and it is apparent these guys have to reach up to get to the gutter. Since the horse can't talk we are subjected to the owners being the mouthpiece, which makes it awfully hard to root for Chrome. You can bet that if CC crushes in the Goodwood and makes it to the Breeders Cup we are going to be subjected to media overload regarding Coburn. We'll see if he's learned anything............or it could get real ugly! The story should be the horse and his accomplishments, he couldn't pick who his owners were going to be. Safe travels CC.

You knew what I meant by wealthy.

Yep, lots of rednecks with money and no class, these guys are two of them. Disgrace to the sport, they just are. The behavior since the Belmont loss is deplorable. Either go to Delmar or don't but shut your trap.

These guys were thrown into the spotlight and they are OBVIOUSLY ill-prepared for the attention. They need to step back and let the horse do their talking for them.
