Oh man I am just sad to add this one... he was like my special horse of the Nad al Sheba meet back in 2008. I know that sounds dumb but that's the way I think of and will remember him. Such a hard trying horse.

4 yr old Socialbug

According to the Daily Racing Form’s Marty McGee, Napravnik was riding Socialbug, a 4-year-old Bob Baffert trainee owned by Mike Rutherford. filly broke down at the sixteenth pole and unseated the rider. Socialbug, a half-sister to champion Midnight Lute, was euthanized due to injury.

Per McGee, from information received from Napravnik’s husband, Joe Sharp, x-rays were taken of her shoulder, but the nature of the injury is still unknown. According to Jennie Rees of The Louisville Courier-Journal, Napravnik was taken to University Hospital.

Sad for any horse, but I was particularly sad with this one. She was in my stable mail and had just gotten her first graded stakes placing. I was looking forward to seeing her develop. A nice filly with some really nice breeding, by Curlin out of the dam of Midnight Lute.

As per @DRFGrening, This Guy is Blue (Medaglia d'Oro - Kim's Blues, by Cure the Blues) suffered a fractured right forelimb and was euthanized (BEL 9th, July 6th).
