Trained by Dan Blacker for new owner George Strawbridge, she will step out in a fillies’ and mares’ event over 1600 metres at Santa Anita where she will be opposed by five rivals. Formerly prepared by Dean and Donna Logan to win six of her nine starts, Habibi hasn’t raced since she suffered a fractured hind pastern when fourth in the Australian Oaks. The daughter of Ekraar underwent lengthy rehabilitation in New South Wales before she transferred to hew current California base. Her short-term aim is the Grade One Santa Anita Gold Cup on June 28. ![]() |

well it's nice to see Dan Blacker finally get a potential runner in his stable, he certainly knows what to do with grass runners given his training and experience.

Definitely seems to be one of the good guys. I sent him an email this week asking for some comments about Habibi, thinking it was unlikely that I'd get anything but it was worth a shot. Dan sent a fantastic and detailed reply. It's gonna make a great story over the next couple of days. He didn't have to do that, and I really appreciate it.
