Really? How about the way Forumlator crashed before the Derby.

They should hire the Obamacare website team--even they weren't this incompetent.

DRF = KODAK

Dominate a business then become obsolete.

Most major hosting companies have generator backups and a quick power outage shouldn't be an issue. However, if the actual equipment/server was damaged and they chose to move to another server location it could take up to 24hrs for the ip address to propagate.

This outage will effect the print edition of the DRF, expect delays.

How in the hell can this possibly occur in this day and age? Is it 1995 or something? You have no redundancy whatsoever? NONE??!!! No backup server farm? No tertiary cloud? ABSOLUTELY NOTHING??!! Wow. And these hacks have your credit card data...

Beyond bush league by leaps and bounds - Simply incomprehensible.

Brightside - we'll get two free formulators after the the GP P6 is over.... LOL

Not trying to pick on DRF but the timing couldn't be worse. First the printing issue for the Derby, another printing issue since, and now total access failure that threatens the Gulfstream Pick-6 depending on when they get it working again.

Horrible luck and some contingency planning shortfalls to be sure.

Default Could this be related to the flooding that hit lower Manhattan 5/1?

The initial outage on Derby week I suspect was due to flooding at DRF's data center (that was the same part of lower Manhattan I believe that flooded when Sandy hit) as that part of Manhattan got hit I believe with 5-6" of rain the Tuesday night and Wednesday before the Derby. It's quite possible this power outage was related to that rainstorm before the Derby much like what happened with the Montauge Street subway tunnel that connects lower Manhattan and Brooklyn after Sandy flooded it (they did get it re-opened for nine months before having to close the tunnel last August to completely rebuild it, which won't be completed until sometime in October I believe).

Wouldn't shock me if power problems related to the May 1 storm caused this.

And the title should have been corrected to the storms, not flooding on 5/1.
