A referendum cobbled together in less than two weeks in the presence of thousands of undercover Russian soldiers will hardly show the true will of Crimea’s people, especially since the Crimean Tatars have pledged to boycott it. This conflict is between the 20% Tatar community and the majority. The Tatars are muslims and to believe they represent a generation of free minds is both insane and insulting.

An example of 'Free Minds' at work "a husband can have sex with his wife regardless of her consent. The bill also prevents women from leaving the house without their husband's permission, would restrict women's rights in matters of parental custody after divorce and make it easier for men to take multiple wives."

i'm curious to know exactly what joey thinks obama could have done, or should have done, that hasn't been done in regards to crimea and russia?

joey, what should we do as a nation? what should obama do as president? what would the proper responses to these actions be?

Maybe Obama should do something other than saying "There will be consequences" followed by ... nothing.

In other words - if we're not going to do anything about it, don't rattle the sabre. That was the worst thing (barring being stupid enough to go to war with Russia, which thankfully he has not shown he is capable of yet) that he could have done.

He did the same thing regarding Syria and ironically it was Putin who bailed him out by brokering a "deal" regarding chemical weapons. Whether the deal was ever going to work was immaterial - he was embarassing the nation with his repeated "don't cross the red line" and then - once again - nothing.
