and like the one article said, it's a mixed bag of reaction. when you have a group tho, working for a common goal, they don't like stuff like this to deal with. it doesn't mean martin is lying, is wrong, or that incognito is right. no one wants to be viewed as being disloyal by saying anything that could be hurtful to the team. right now, they all just want it to go away. |

I think this is just the beginning of these type of stories. Society has changed in the last 20 years. People used to work out issues at school, in the neighborhood, or at work amongst themselves. People used to deal with their own problems and it worked. Now young adults and children are taught to run as fast as they can to let "adults, teachers, parents, lawyers" whomever fight their battle. People under 35 seldom have had to work out problems by themselves. They have been taught to quit your job, transfer schools, let their parents deal with it etc... instead of working out their problems with each other. Sadly, this is a trend I see continuing. I will put this in context of work but it could be dealing with issues at school or with coaches etc.... This is why it is hard to find good employees, they have never been told they made the wrong decision or their work isn't up to par. When they are, they are being persecuted or their employer is picking on them. People need to take responsibility for their own actions and in most cases work out issues amongst themselves. |

![]() Do you see chuck as Richie incognito to your Jonathan Martin? Would Steve be joe philbin turning a blind eye to the locker room antics and hazing that go on here at the derbytrail?

![]() The elephant in the room is that Martin is a bad player who was in the process of being replaced at left tackle. The whole story is overblown bullshit about a guy who couldnt take failure and is throwing the entire organization under the bus.

![]() i think discussing this anonymously brings us far closer to the truth of peoples' feelings on the matter.
as for how martin should have handled it. the team management told these players to toughen up martin; martin was to single-handedly handle being bullied, when the bully(s) were acting at the behest of management? that's a laugh. if the coach wanted martin to be more of a team player, perhaps he should have discussed it with martin, rather than turning him over to a mob. 3kings, i get your point-to a point. but this isn't just a case of a bully and a victim-it's a case of the total culture of that team, it's management, its players. you think martin was supposed to single-handedly take on not just a player who was using racial slurs, and making threats but the people who told him to take that action? |
