as a child of the 60's the old OJC ran a suberb operation....they even had a an animal zoo type operation at the end of the grandstand. No cages, just a fenced large area

it was like a dark forest, somedays the deer were on the fence grazing others if you looked long and hard, tough for a 6 yo, you could see them bedded down.

I remember begging my father to stay for the feature, I believe the the horses name was Greek Answer, but I might be wrong, it was Greek Something.............and i though the could break the track record

we stayed, the time was not impressive and the ride back to the states was short.. this was back in old days when US IRS had men stationed at the payoff windows. To watch who was cashing big tickets...... as if the Buffalo/Rochester/TORONTO guys didn't know this

I mean it was WPS and 2 DD

Default Fort Erie

I remember as a kid, it took forever..................for the track to dry out as i later learned it was a clay based track. Which is the basis for one of the safest racing surfaces on earth.

If i owned the place , and thats my dream, i'd redo the turf course, perhaps put in lights and FO to WEG
