I think I'm going to favor the early speed types, even with a large field.

Grabbing disease is everywhere. Even if it isn't, Oxbow is a tough horse and the pace will not be as fast as the Derby.

It will certainly be in the Pick 4 if the prospective field enters.

FYI, it has been in the Pick 4 9 of the last 10 years, with the only exception being 2010. That running had a field of five.

@DRFGrening: Always in a Tiz will skip Belmont Stakes and instead run in the Easy Goer on Saturday, per racing manager Anthony Bonomo Jr. Field now 14.

Three-year-olds used to run in a 1 1/8 stakes race (the Colin) on Belmont Stakes Day. It was nice when a quality horse like Fly So Free -- clearly not cut out for 12 furlongs -- could race in (and win, if memory serves) on Belmont Stakes Day.
Fly So Free won the Riva Ridge, now called the Woody Stephens ( they finally smartened up and turned him back ).

I see that he won the Riva Ridge at 1/2 over Formal Dinner in '91.

Wasn't there a Colin Stakes for three year olds at 1 1/8 on Belmont Stakes Day in the past?
yes
