![]() On the bright side, it did say birth rates declined.
On the not-so-bright-side, no one wants to be tied with Mississippi for anything. I continue to find it sadly hilarious that states in the Bible Belt tend to be the ones with the highest rates of teen pregnancy and divorce. I just don't understand why some parents are so opposed to sex ed. Isn't the whole reason for having sex ed in school that it spares parents that mortifying discussion? I think the only time my dad and I ever had anything resembling a talk about sex was when I was ten, reading the People's Almanac entry about Jack the Ripper and had to ask him what a prostitute was. His embarrassed, yet resigned, reaction made me realize this was not the person to go to when I had questions. ![]() Anyone else remember The People's Almanac? I miss those books.
