Dehere was an exceptional 2YO who unfortunately didn't get much chance as a 3YO. His win in the Fountain of Youth was tainted somewhat by Holy Bull displacing but he was a good horse. I think he was more of a closing sprinter in reality. His wins at Saratoga were some of the most visually impressive races I have ever seen.

To be fair, his loss to Holy Bull in the Futurity ( and I bet Holy Bull that day ) was as much the result of Holy Bull being loose on a sloppy speed track as anything. I loved Holy Bull but as 2YOs it's hard to say he was a better horse than Dehere.

Im glad to hear someone with a lot of knowledge and strong opinions speak highly of Dehere. He was a very visually impressive two year old that seems to lose a lot of respect of both his accomplishments on the track and his consistent results at stud with limited oppurtunity.
