I trust whatever conclusion he comes to. Trakus backs up the fact that the KyJC was slower than the 2yo MSW and the Golden Rod. It boils down to a question of the racing surface and if it was slowing down throughout the card. At a few of my tracks ... it is a common thing where a racing surface will change speed throughout the card. Presque Isle Downs, for instance, the surface always gets faster late in the card. There is a discernable pattern that you see time after time. I personally don't believe this was the case on this day at Churchill, look at the 10th place finisher of that race!, but CJ has a lot more experience with Churchill Downs than I have. |
