![]() i tell you it's a shame. 'what is a shame?' you ask.
i just went back and looked thru threads containing ndaa, because i knew at least one or two were begun with that topic of discussion. this thread, about an affair, has garnered more views, and more replies than the thread about drones in use in florida over a party, and the judge ordering a hold on ndaa. more views/replies than the thread about holder saying it's perfectly legal to kill us citizens without due process. but let some guy get some strange, and look out!!

![]() IMO this is a far bigger issue than just a guy getting caught cheating on his old lady. I'm not blaming the white house though I believe that it is 1-9 that they knew about this since the begining. If the head of the CIA is being investgated by the FBI I find it hard to believe the President was out of the loop. The problem is that the head of the CIA was so profoundly stupid and careless about this in the first place. A person in that job should have impeccable integrity and not be so easily manipulated or caught. Being that the entire organization exists to gather intellegence and use leverage and other means to do that, a pretty obvious affair with a relatively unstable woman seems to be a stunningly ignorant move for a man in that position. I'm not naive enough to think that many men in positions of power (or otherwise) arent unfaithful to their spouses but for a guy like Petraeus who seemed to be an ideal candidate for the job to be so amatuerish is scary. I'm sure Mr Putin is having a good laugh over this.

as for putin, i recall when clinton had his peccadilloes being bandied about, that much of the rest of the world was saying 'what's the big deal?'. is it odd timing? sure. but then, i doubt there's ever a good time for the wife of 37 years to find out something like this. he was a powerful man, and powerful men do stupid things, just like the rest of us. but luckily for the rest of us, no one cares what we do.

I'm sure if Mr Putin had information that he could use as leverage on Petraeus do you believe he would hesitate to use that? |

it's an affair. it's not a james bond movie, she's not a russian commie, and apparently nothing was compromised. as for the last sentence, i'm pretty sure that's why he was encouraged to resign, and why he did resign as soon as he was told about the investigation. and i'm sure he feels like a complete and utter fool.

Would it have cost Obama the election? Highly doubtful but i'm sure this story would have been spun far more aggresively had it occured during the election media frenzy as opposed to during the victory lap. |

and he will still be compelled to testify, regardless of whether he is in or out of the cia. i think there would have been something to it had the other woman been a libyan terrorist. other than that, it's just the latest fodder for folks who watch that pageant kid. and yeah, you're right about the tmz-ization of america. and it's embarrassing.

![]() You think that the FBI has been investigating the head of the CIA for months and the White House is claiming the President didn't know about it is truthful? You dont think if when Obama started slipping a bit in the polls that this story breaking wouldn't have hurt him even if just slightly? It might not have effected the final result but are you ok with the White House lying to us about a matter that you feel isnt of national security?

he was screwing a girl. so what?! and if the first debate, and the libya attack and all the other real problems didn't matter, why would it matter that some guy not named obama was screwing someone other than his wife?

In fact, Petraeus himself wrote an op-ed piece in 2004, totally lying about what was going on in Iraq, in order to bolster Bush's reelection prospects in an election that was much closer than the one we just had. But, as this article points out, Petraeus' first blow job came from the media: http://www.buzzfeed.com/mhastings/th...david-petraeus
