Like many have described, Obama fits very nicely with moderate Republicans. Why I voted for him. Why Colin Powell endorsed him. Why most major newspapers in the country endorsed him.

This country isn't divided - from my point of view, it's been brought more together. The wingnut extremists were thrown out of office. When you have Fox News calling Karl Rove extreme, there's plenty of hope. If they can lay off the crazy talk, and people like Donald Trump stop calling for revolution because they lost an election, the rest of us can continue to work. There were historic accomplishments Obama's first term, and it will continue.

The United States is unique as even our Democrats are considered rather conservative in the other first world countries. Like me being called "extreme". It's absurd.
You cant make a single post without making some extreme remark about the GOP. You think that politicam parties and those that suport them can endure months of attacks on rach other and believe that we come out of it more together? You think that thi election proves something? it proves nothing except that far too many people see only what they want to see. Obama won the popular election by a little over 1%. That is an awful lot of people who were willing to ignore the attacks and scare tactics and still vote him out.

When the subject is the extreme things the GOP is doing - and even you have to admit that preventing women from accessing birth control is extreme - the subject dictates the post.

Yes. The extremists, the "Muslim Kenyan Socialist Communist" Bachmann-West-Mourdock-Atkins folks lost. The liars, the Fox News liars, lost.

The election was a "landslide" according to all the Romney people that thought he'd be on top with over 330 electoral votes. It was Obama who got the "landslide", however. Exactly as the multiple rational poll watchers - and not the crazy right wing reality-deniers - predicted. Every swing state but one.

Popular vote still being counted, but this mornings total is

59,621,436 Obama
56,989,709 Romney

That's plenty significant in a Presidential election. Especially as on the evening news, Obama's win margin is now over 3 million votes and still rising.

Not really significant at all.

Before subtracting out the dead people and multiple voters (which we don't have figures for due to those being illegal, unmeasured activities), Obama got 51.1% to Romney's 48.9%.
