no money should have been used as a form of venture capital-it's an absurdity that the federal govt is taking that role, regardless of what type of company is involved.
that money should have gone into infrastructure, something sadly needed in so many areas. bridges still in use years after their life span, many are given failing grades but are still travelled over. interstates too small, too congested. the wpa and ccc did a lot of good back during the depression, it's a tested and proven remedy.
but no, let's send tons of money to start ups. and we have exactly what to show for it? nothing. but i guarantee some people have money in their pockets because of it-and no doubt were made richer, not rich, by the deal.
