The statement that the mixed-race son of a poor single mother, left with his grandparents, who worked and got into Columbia, then Harvard, became and worked as a lawyer, then got involved in state politics, then was elected Senator, then President of the United States, "never really had to work" is beyond absurd and laughable.

Yeah, but that was all accomplished via Affirmative Action...

Apparently being poor, growing up in a single-family home with no father, being left by your mother to grow up with your grandparents, have to work to get into college, work to get into law school, work to become president of Harvard Law Review, work to earn money to buy a house and raise a family, doesn't count if you're Barack Obama.

I am sick of the haters and Faux News outright lying about this President, what he says, what he does. No president in my lifetime has been disrespected, lied about and hated like this, and that includes Bush the Younger. You can go back and see how Abraham Lincoln was treated like this - which provides an interesting context for Obama's treatment.

And any American citizen who cares about this country ought to be sick of the lies, too. Judge them all on the truth, on what they actually do, actually say. Not manufactured, made-up birther conspiracy nonsense bull.sh.i.a.t.

What I would really like to know is who he is pandering to with a statement like that? The people that work on road crews?
The whole tone (context be damned) of the speech just doesn't make any sense at all.
