100 Beyer for Daddy Nose Best, 99 for Isn't He Clever in Sunday's Sunland Derby. 86 for Princess Arabella taking the Oaks..

The Moss Pace Figures for the Derby seem way off.

Considering how high the numbers always seem to be from Sunland, I think Princess Arabella comes out very suspect going forward....not that she already wasn't.

IMO Eden's Moon will be much better.

Can Eden's Moon get a more favorable set-up than she received last time? She seems iffy at 9F in a race with a reasonable pace.

Set-Up?? She was a length in front the entire way around. At the top of the lane, Reneesgotzip comes up beside her, and catches 2 whips in the face from Garcia. I'm far from a pedigree maven, but a Malibu Moon (A.P. Indy) filly, out of a Giant's Causeway mare is going to have issues at 9f??

In a fairly non-descript field to start, her main competition, Reneesgotzip, blew the first turn, and Eden's Moon was able to set a relatively unpressured pace through what were the slowest fractions of all two-turn races run at Santa Anita on March 3.

She's got an awesome pedigree (family of Paradise Creek), but Eden's Moon couldn't have had things any easier, and the final margin was more a function of Reneesgotzip giving it through the lane up than Eden's Moon drawing off powerfully. Dynamics are likely to be far different in the Kentucky Oaks; that's why I said she seemed an iffy proposition there.
