![]() I thought Take Charge Indy might show up in the Risen Star. He would be around 5-2 and El Padrino 7-5?? I thought they both moved up in the slop last time, but going forward I like Take Charge Indy much more. This spot seems softer then the Tampa Bay Derby where he is likely to show up next.

![]() Take Charge Indy has not had a published work since that Allowance Race. At this point that is not good.

![]() Nice fields and great betting races!
I'm not sold on El Padrino. Maybe that's foolish. Hoping Mr. Bowling does well but Shared Property is the one I keep looking at... The two Dorochenko runners? Ummm, why are they here? |

![]() On paper El Padrino should have crushed them. He crushed all but Mark Valeski who was dead game inside the winner while exchanging contact. While El Padrino may be a nice one he's not yet any kind of sensation in my book. Last fall he had some serious work on his legs before the Remsen, which I think he may have been rushed to make. His slop return was a monster but he's bred to move up on wet going and did. Maybe he bounced today and will run a monster next time.
Mark Valeski impressed me in defeat, moving up in class and getting a "gut check" race. When it come to the Derby, I like to see horses looked in the eye (figuratively and literally) and not back down. I don't know if he's going to prove on par with the top of the clas, but he showed class today.

![]() Speaking of El Padrino's legs, I haven't watched the replay, but didn't he stay on his left lead way too long?

He worked yesterday. I'm hearing as originally planned he is still a go for the Tampa Bay Derby. If anything he was flattered by El Padrinos race. |

And, by the way, how was Take Charge Indy flattered by El Padrino winning the Risen Star? He was browbeat by El Padrino. I guess Union Rags flattered him in the FOY, too. In reality, it's Shared Property who serves as the most accurate barometer of Take Charge Indy's talent. |

I've got two different mobile numbers for Baffert. If I really ever wanted to be sadistic...I could scan and forward it to PG '85. |

I remember the agent telling me not to bug too many of these guys -- I told him I'd rather shoot myself in the head than talk to these guys. Michael Dickinson was yelling and screaming "you're asking the wrong questions!" at me over and over when I was asking him any question about Tapeta that didn't involve horse safety. Stephanie Beattie lied right to me about horses being "new in her barn" who had overages even though I had PP's in front of me showing she was the trainer of record on said horses for over a year or more prior. |
