The jockey was obviously trying to win.

It happened to Shoemaker in the Derby and Desormeaux in the Japan Cup.

I suppose you could always put up numbers next to the poles every 1/8th of a mile like some foreign tracks do... like a 3 next to the 3/8th pole and a 2 next to the 1/4 pole and a 1 next to the 1/8th pole.

I always assumed those foreign places did that to help the fans and bettors out because a lot of the meetings are so short and the courses are often oddly shaped.

Nope. I think every fan knows what a finish line is.

It's for the jocks. They really are that stupid.

What do you think of SOPA?

I'm glad we have our Congress trying to pass laws that no one wants...that, of course, is when they have their tongues removed from Wall St anal cavity.

There are already workarounds in place to get around SOPA.

Personally, I'm glad they are trying to push this. More and more people are finally waking up.

maybe they could put up neon lights over the finish line? with arrows pointing down? surely that would help

I say IQ tests, but that would probably kill the sport.

You are apparently too nice a person to be posting on this thread.

I shall have to escort you out.

It's kinda like slamming your brakes at a green light.

There is no reason for it and it's inexcusable. This is a job in which it is imperative that the person pay attention to what they are doing.

If this jockey can't keep his mind focused for less than two minutes at a time, simply put, he shouldn't be riding.

I'd say a suspension is letting him off pretty easy.

All Im saying is he made a mistake. He thought the 1/8 pole was the finish line. If you watch it again the only thing at the finish is the mirror. The track needs to do something with the finish line.
